In Andy’s eyes, there isn’t anything much more rewarding than developing a successful breeding program. Andy has spent countless hours researching and studying various performance lines and successful crosses. Through his efforts, he has developed a group broodmares that are not only beautiful and pleasant, but proven producers. Andy loves his ladies and enjoys watching the foals be born and develop into talented show, ranch or rope horses. Around here, our horses do it all.
A Red Belle Pepper
Belle is a 2005 Sorrel Quarter Horse with a big hip and beautiful head. She was shown by Randy Paul at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. Unfortunately an injury ended her career early. Fortunately for us, Andy spotted the mare a mile away and knew he had to have her. With only two colts of performing age, she has already produced nearly $20,000 in earnings and some very nice show horses.

We look forward to watching her younger colts make their way to the show pen. She currently has a 3-year-old filly by Travelin Jonez, as well as a 2-year-old colt and weanling filly by This One Time.
Demi, owned by Orlando and Angela Gonzalez, is a 2008 Red Roan Quarter Horse that catches absolutely everyone’s eye. With very limited showing, she has garnered plenty of attention and a few titles. Demi is the kind of horse that can do it all. She has no problem marking a 144 in the cutting pen, completing a day’s worth of work on the ranch, or packing a beginner around the arena. She has as much personality as talent, and that is held with high regard around the Kurtz Ranch.

Her only foal as of now is a 4-year-old filly by WR This Cats Smart who will be shown in NCHA competition. She looks like her momma (except with a blonde mane and tail), and shows the same promise on a cow.
Zumbar Rojo may be the only Paint Horse on the ranch, but she brings a wealth of talented, impressive wins, and the biggest heart around to the ranch. More affectionately known as "Bullseye", the 2005 Sorrel Tobiano mare by West Coast Whiz proved successful in all divisions of the reining show pen from Open, to Non-Pro, to Youth. Bullseye has two APHA World Championships to her name - 2012 Senior and 2012 Amateur - along with several other wins including making the Open Finals at the 2010 NRBC and winning the 2008 Southwest Reining Futurity Limited Open.
Along her journey, Bullseye added a wealth of wins in the Open, Non-Pro, Rookie, Green Reiner, and Youth ancillary classes. More importantly, she won the heart of everyone who got to know her and/or watched her show. She is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of horse that will always find a home at the Kurtz Ranch.

Zumbar Rojo has a 2-year-old palomino paint filly by Pale Face Dunnit (LTE: $72k+) who is coming along very niceley. She also has a solid bay yearling filly by REF Black Mamba, and just foaled a palomino tobiano colt by Yellow Jersey. She is bred to Spooks Gotta Gun for a 2019 foal.
